Course Description

Year 7-10

InstaMind Education offers tutoring programs in Maths, Science and English for Year 7 to 10. These programs are mapped to the Australian National Curriculum. Our maths program is tailored for individual student to teach according to their current school module. The program's focus is to keep students ahead of their academic term plan to maximise their performance and achieve higher grades in term tests. For this age group, our experienced teachers help students to succeed not only academically but emotionally and socially as well.

Maths Program

Our Maths program for secondary school students of Year 7 to 10 is designed to expand their understanding of key mathematical concepts, laying the foundations for upper secondary school years. We employ explicit instruction by providing a series of instructional supports that guide students through the learning process.

Our teachers use a clear statement of purpose and instructions for learning the new skills with supported practice and timely feedback. Support is withdrawn systematically after targeted proficiency is achieved. Our teaching program incorporates manipulative materials, digital resources and a range of textbooks to support students learning.

Science Program

Our Science program for secondary school students of Year 7 to 10 is a comprehensive program designed to develop a deep understanding of science using a combination of direct and constructive learning approaches. Teachers use various strategies and digital resources to keep students engaged. Students are provided with opportunities to practice in class with the teacher’s support. It covers the relevant curriculum in Biological Sciences, Physical sciences, Chemical sciences, Earth and space sciences for year 7 to 10.

English Program

Our English program for this age year group aims to extend their knowledge and understanding in language, literature and literacy. The focus is to set a strong foundation and advance cognitive capabilities for higher secondary years. Students are taught to develop an understanding of the requirements of different types of texts. Teaching is focused on developing the student's ability to represent unique and abstract ideas in various ways. This age group’s development of the literature strand is extended by introducing sophisticated analysis of students' multiple kinds of literacy texts.

Students are provided with opportunities to create and analyse their own text and taught to make the appropriate choice of text selection in various contexts. Literacy skills are developed by introducing the strategies to create texts using multiple genres and modes related to sociocultural and personal importance. Opportunities are provided for students to describe their ideas and display their understanding of various text types in written and oral methods.
