The Academic Selective Entrance Test (ASET), commonly known as the GATE test, is conducted by the Department of Education in March every year. This is a highly competitive test. According to the Department of Education WA, there will be 769 places for the Year 7 GATE 2022 placement. Based on last few year’s data, total number of available places for Year 7 academic program is about 14% the of total students sit in the ASET. There are only 225 spots for the most sought-after school, like Perth Morden School, which is about 4% of the total students apply for ASET.
Each year the number of students applying for the ASET increases significantly and has been soared by 30% in last four years. Due to several competitive and well-prepared students applying for the ASET each year, the cut off mark for the selection in GATE is getting higher. Considering the level of competitiveness, it is vital that student is well prepared for this test.
